Phil Donohue, like many others did not have the foresight or perhaps the courage to hear the truth behind the lies from government officials regarding wars, civil rights abuses, etc. Journalists like Amy Goodman, Glen Greenwald, and other foreign correspondents and authors like Chomsky do have aunique & courageous outlook to report Truth.
