Gordon Sondland: I worked “at the express direction of the president” – Axios

November 20, 2019

If this is any indication, the writing is on the wall pertaining to the future of the Trump Presidency. Not only are previous denials, excuses and other defenses put forth by the Trump enablers both within and outside of Congress have either crumbled or are in the process of doing so.

In addition to Trump, the political careers of Rudy Giuliani and several members of both the US House of Representatives and the US Senate should be toast. The names Devin Nunes, Jim Jordan and Lindsey Graham come most readily to mind. I can think of no high ranking official, including Vice President Pence, Attorney General Barr or Secretary of State Pompeo who deserves to remain in office once all the evidence comes to light.

The obstruction of the Congressional inquiry by the President and his high ranking Cabinet members and advisers – to include refusing to abide by subpoenas of documents and to testify before the appropriate Congressional committees in their oversight role – must end. There is no excuse for the abuse of power being carried out by and for the President against the American people and our elected representatives must end as quickly as possible and a transparent accounting of Executive Branch actions, policies and abuses presented.

If the President does not intend to live up to the oath of office he swore to when he was inaugurated on January 20, 2017, he must either resign or be impeached by the House of Representatives, convicted after a trial in the Senate and removed from office. His malfeasance, dereliction of duty and the potential for even more grievous conduct from him in response to recent events necessitate these matters not be deferred until the next election. – rjc

The key to Trump’s Impeachment is obstruction and the thousands of lies by Trump and his Administration!

  2. Watching the desperate Republicans bending over sideways and backwards for Trump today is sad, sickening, and shameful. They are despicable.

  3. To not impeach trump, by far the most deserving of it in U.S. history, would be unforgivable. The people of the U.S. cannot allow it not to proceed and must push not only for impeachment, but for him to be removed from office by the Senate. Prison time would be ideal, but would never happen in the United States of Corporations.

  4. Sometimes I try to imagine what it would be like, feel like, to be Trump at this point in time. I can’t. It’s just truly bad fiction, cheap self-serving pseudo drama. I should never have bought the book or the movie. Time to throw both in the trash and try something something else, something with more creativity, like Blair Witch Project…
